Homework for VPK and Pre-K 3 Students

Starting this Tuesday, your VPK and Pre-K 3 students will receive weekly homework assignments. These assignments are designed to reinforce what they are learning in class and help develop valuable study habits. Homework should be completed and returned by the following Monday. We encourage you to engage with your child during this time to provide support and encouragement.

The Joy of Reading

We cannot stress enough the importance of reading to your child every night. It's a simple yet incredibly effective way to boost their language skills, expand their imaginations, and foster a love for learning. So, snuggle up with your little one and let the adventure of reading begin!

Preschool Attendance Matters

Preschool is a pivotal time for your child's development. Attending regularly helps establish essential rituals and routines, setting the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Even our youngest learners benefit greatly from consistent attendance, so please make every effort to have your child here each day.

Back To School Announcements

  1. School Hours: SBP is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. School starts promptly at 8:30 am, so it's crucial that all students arrive on time to take full advantage of their learning activities and avoid disrupting the classroom. Please note that entry to SBP after 9:00 am will not be permitted unless previously authorized due to medical appointments or other valid reasons.

  2. Regular Attendance: Consistent attendance is vital for your child's learning progress and to establish a sense of routine. Students with a VPK and/or School Readiness Certificate are REQUIRED to attend, as non-attendance may result in losing their class spot. If your child must be absent, please provide a doctor's note as documentation for an excused absence.

  3. Sign-In and Sign-Out: All students must be signed in and out through the Smartcare App. This process ensures the safety and accountability of each child while they are under our care.

  4. Payments: Payment is due on Mondays. Late payments made on Tuesdays will incur a late fee. Please note that payments are due whether the student is in attendance or not, as per our School Policy.

  5. Lunch Policy: We are a lunch box school, and children are encouraged to bring their lunches. If you wish to opt for catered lunch, payment and orders are due on Monday mornings, and only cash payments are accepted. We regret that we cannot accept orders at any other time.

  6. Reusable Water Bottles: Your child should bring a reusable water bottle, clearly labeled with their first and last name. This practice helps us ensure each child stays hydrated and prevents any confusion.

  7. Vinyl Nap Mats: Full-time care children must have a vinyl nap mat with their first and last name clearly marked on it. Please ensure the nap mat adheres to the required size, as larger mats cannot be properly stored at the school and would violate DCF rules. You can purchase the appropriate nap mat using the link provided. If a child's nap mat is ripped, it's essential to replace it promptly.

  8. Labeling Personal Items: To prevent items from getting lost, kindly label all of your child's belongings with their first and last name. This simple step goes a long way in ensuring their belongings are returned safely.

  9. Prohibited Items: For the smooth functioning of our learning environment, outside toys, such as cars, action figures, makeup, purses, and stuffed animals, are not permitted. These items can cause disruptions and distractions, and we cannot be held responsible for them.

  10. Behavior Policy: We strive to maintain a positive and nurturing atmosphere at SBP. Disruptive and/or violent behavior will not be tolerated. If a student consistently displays disrespectful, loud, or violent behavior, parents will be notified for immediate pick-up. For further details, please refer to our Behavior Policy.

  11. Illness: If your child is unwell and experiencing symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, excessive coughing, or any other contagious conditions, we kindly request that you keep them at home. Bringing a sick child to school not only hinders their recovery but also poses a risk of spreading the illness to others. For the safety of all students and staff, children should be symptom-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school after an illness. This practice helps reduce the chances of the illness spreading to others. In cases of extended illness, where your child may need to miss several consecutive days of school, we require documentation from a doctor.
